Fiona has many years’ experience working on a broad range of finance and restructuring transactions. Fiona trained at Simmons & Simmons and later worked in the banking team at Eversheds Sutherland LLP. She has also worked in house for both Barclays Bank PLC and Kaupthing Bank Hf and completed a secondment at HSBC. She joined Ignition in 2018.

Fiona has amassed a broad base of experience advising borrowers and lenders across a range of business sectors.  She advises on all aspects of corporate lending, syndicated and bilateral facilities, real estate and acquisition finance and shareholder/director funding.

Recent relevant experience includes:

  • Advising a for-profit social enterprise lender in relation to a secured £2.5 million revolving credit facility and block discounting facilities totalling £3 million to be utilised to increase its loan portfolio.
  • Advising companies on the debt finance options for funding their businesses, including bank debt, shareholder and director loans, convertible loans and loan notes.
  • Acting as lead advisor for a bank in relation to its solvent restructuring of a fashion retail group of companies and debt facilities amounting to £190 million.
  • Advising both borrowers and lenders on a wide range of bilateral and syndicated real estate finance deals, including development finance and portfolio investment facilities.
